September Church News

Dear Family of Faith,

I hope all continue to be well as isolation continues!

Some pieces of news for you:

  1. Remember that TOMORROW, Sunday Sept. 13, is our Presbyterian Women’s “Souper Sunday.” They are sad, of course, that it can’t be a meal together in the fellowship hall, but grateful to be able to serve you! Simply drive through the back church parking lot between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and they will let you know what kinds of soup and desserts are available. Request whatever you wish and they will provide! It is a fundraiser, of course, so a monetary gift would be welcome, but not mandatory.
  2. Next Saturday (one week from today) is a Church Parking Lot Rummage Sale. We hope you will take time this next week to search closets and cabinets, nooks and crannies of your home to find items that are no longer in use to stock the sale. They may be delivered to the church during office hours (10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) Monday – Thursday this next week, or by calling me (Pastor Bill – 785-320-1652) to open the church at other times. Also let me know if you need assistance transporting larger items. Thank you to all who have already donated items for the cause!
  3. Finally, tomorrow’s message includes a semi-summary of the Book of Job. You may wish to read Job 1-2 in advance in preparation. Remember, you may access messages starting on Sunday mornings by going to our church website (firstchurchmena.org) and clicking the “sermons” tab. Good news concerning the messages – if you have had any trouble hearing the messages, Garrett Lundberg, our audio/visual extraordinaire, has resolved the sound issues!! You should be able to hear them crystal clear!

Blessings! Pastor Bill
