Welcome to the season of Lent – those 40 days (minus Sundays) prior to Easter! Historically, Lent is a time Christians have used to – more than ever – focus their hearts on the great love of God, as well as consider how they may have a renewed and closer walk with Him.
Each year Lent begins on “Ash Wednesday.” Named for the ancient practice of placing ashes on one’s head to express grief, sorrow, or penitence, Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance for all those moments we have taken any path other than the one God has lain before us. The service begins at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary.
