It took a pandemic to uproot Effie Dantiacq from the piano bench in her beloved church. After playing her last piece there, she was swept up in a Mercedes Sprinter camper van by her daughter, Carolyn and nephew, Hans for her return to California. They did some wilderness camping in Utah, overlooking Zion, on her birthday, and later explored Hopi Indian ruins in the high desert of Arizona. She now lives with her sister, Ingrid in the Berkeley hills — and yes, she has a piano! She wishes everyone well through the pandemic and always.
