Our annual “Community Thanksgiving Celebration” is coming on Sunday, November 22. First Presbyterian has again been asked to provide 300 servings of a certain pumpkin pie dessert. Would you be willing to help prepare a pan or two (or three, or four …)? We need a total of 25 pans at 12 servings per pan. You may simply email Pastor Bill at whatseitz2c@gmail.com to let us know how many pans you are willing to make, and we will have pans and a recipe for you. Many thanks to Dora Venable, who is leading this effort.
The dessert may be brought to our church that morning, or delivered directly to the Assembly of God Church at 3 p.m. that afternoon. The meal will be served at 5 – 6:30 p.m., and all are welcome to be a part of it.
Incidentally, we have bragging rights on this event. The Ministerial Alliance wasn’t sure how to proceed with this event in the face of Covid-19. I told them how successful our drive-through Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day lunch events were, and they decided to use our method (passing through the parking lot and picking up “take out” bags). The Assembly of God Church was chosen for a variety of reasons, including that most needy individuals already know where it is due to the Acts of Love Food Pantry.
